There is another good reason to finish life on a high note. In a predominantly secular society, adopting a hedonisticdeath-style is much more responsible from an ethical utilitarian perspective. For it promises to spare friends and relations the miseries of vicarious suffering and distress they are liable to undergo at present as they witness one's decline.

A few generations hence, the elimination of primitive evolutionary holdovers such as the ageing process andsuffering will make the hedonistic death advocated here redundant. In the meanwhile, one is conceived in pleasure and may reasonably hope to die in it.

Liberal Christians

Also sometimes referred to as secular, modern, or humanistic. This is an umbrella term for Protestant denominations, or churches within denominations, that view the Bible as the witness of God rather than the word of God, to be interpreted in its historical context through critical analysis. Examples include some churches within Anglican/Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ. There are more than 2,000 Protestant denominations offering a wide range of beliefs from extremely liberal to mainline to ultra-conservative and those that include characteristics on both ends.

•	Belief in Deity Trinity of the Father (God), the Son (Christ), and the Holy Spirit that comprises one God Almighty. Many believe God is incorporeal.
•	Incarnations Beliefs vary from the literal to the symbolic belief in Jesus Christ as God's incarnation. Some believe we are all sons and daughters of God and that Christ was exemplary, but not God.
•	Origin of Universe and Life The Bible's account is symbolic. God created and controls the processes that account for the universe and life (e.g. evolution), as continually revealed by modern science.
•	After Death Goodness will somehow be rewarded and evil punished after death, but what is most important is how you show your faith and conduct your life on earth.
•	Why Evil? Most do not believe that humanity inherited original sin from Adam and Eve or that Satan actually exists. Most believe that God is good and made people inherently good, but also with free will and imperfect nature, which leads some to immoral behavior.
•	Salvation Various beliefs: Some believe all will go to heaven, as God is loving and forgiving. Others believe salvation lies in doing good works and no harm to others, regardless of faith. Some believe baptism is important. Some believe the concept of salvation after death is symbolic or nonexistent.
•	Undeserved Suffering Most Liberal Christians do not believe that Satan causes suffering. Some believe suffering is part of God's plan, will, or design, even if we don't immediately understand it. Some don't believe in any spiritual reasons for suffering, and most take a humanistic approach to helping those in need.
•	Contemporary Issues Most churches teach that abortion is morally wrong, but many ultimately support a woman's right to choose, usually accompanied by policies to provide counseling on alternatives. Many are accepting of homosexuality and gay rights.

72-year-old Arizona Senator John McCain admitted today that he chose Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate to hide the fact that he fathered her Down's Syndrome baby Trig.

DNA tests prove that McCain fathered the child while her husband, BP oil field worker Todd Palin, was snowmobiling.

"I admit that I fathered the child but that's not the only reason I chose her as my running mate", McCain stated at an early afternoon press conference. "I also chose her to grab the women vote from Obama".

McCain claims her chose Palin over much more qualified women such as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice because of the paternity issues.

"It had nothing to do with Condoleezza being black or anything", McCain asserted.

McCain would not be the first president to father a child out of wedlock. Thomas Jefferson is known to have fathered several children through his slave Sally Hemings. Grover Cleveland and Warren Harding are also alleged to have produced offspring outside of marriage.

The National Enquirer has released some shocking new allegations about the Palin Family.

According to the Enquirer, and contrary to the "one big happy family" presented to the American public, Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson actually “broke up a few times" during their young romance. Not once. Not twice. A FEW times. Along the way, "they definitely messed around with other people,” according to sources. The "messing around" was apparently more than just a trip or two to the local sock hop, folks. Turns out more than one local boy claims to have "made out" with Bristol, which some surmise may have included HUGGING, HOLDING HANDS and KISSING. There have even been some allegations of DRY-HUMPING.

Bristol was also seen drinking alcohol, and may have smoked marijuana.

According to the Enquirer, Bristol is not the only "wild child" in the family. Track Palin has, like his brazen hussy of a sister, been seen drinking alcohol and was once implicated in a local vandalism incident. Wow.

The Enquirer alleges that Track Palin got himself addicted to pain-killers in high school. There are also allegations of addiction to cocaine and marijuana use. Man, who does this Track kid think he is? George W. Bush? Barack H. Obama? WTF?

That stuff is all pretty bad, but the scandal doesn't stop with the family. There is also a new scandal involving Sarah Palin herself. The Enquirer has learned that Sarah Palin was actually ANGRY when she found out her 17-year-old daughter Bristol was pregnant. Can you believe that? What kind of a mother would be ANGRY to find out that her 17-year old daughter had gotten knocked up by her boyfriend? My goodness...

The powerful clay work shows Mrs Obama in the style of an African Queen, wearing large hooped earrings and an "afro pick" comb in her Egyptian-influenced hairstyle.

An American flag is tattooed across her naked chest and the comb is decorated with pearls, the traditional garb of a First Lady, and an American Eagle.

The work, by controversial sculptor Daniel Edwards, is clearly a nod to both Mrs Obama's ethnic roots and her position at the heart of American culture and politics.

As her husband, Barack Obama, battles to win the next US presidential elections, she has come under intense media spotlight, and has been likened to former First Lady Jackie Kennedy.

However, Edwards said: "The goal is to create a look for Michelle Obama that eliminates excessive comparisons to Jackie Kennedy."

The bust, entitled "Michelle Obama's Makeover for America" goes on display at the Leo Kesting Gallery in New York on October 1.

A gallery spokesman said: "Look out Oprah, a new 'Lady O's' in charge. Michelle Obama inspires a fashion template change that many First Ladies of the 21st Century may follow, as we witness minorities in this country becoming the majority."

The sculpture forms part of the Inspire America series by Edwards, which includes the Oprah Sarcophagus, and The Iraq War Memorial, featuring a work which depicts Prince Harry as if he had died in combat clutching the cameo-locket of his late mother, Princess Diana.
